Masters of Science in Neurotechnology - MUNE UPM
The Technical University of Madrid is launching a Masters program based on cutting-edge neuroscience and neurotechnology to transfer the latest scientific advances to students.
This Master’s degree is an innovative and unique graduate program at institutional, national and even international level. Neurotechnology constitutes a novel and promising branch of biomedical technology, which has the potential to profoundly transform science and technology, with applications ranging from medicine to cognitive enhancement and human-machine integration.
The Master will provide students with a wide range of career opportunities at the intersection of neuroscience and technology, enabling graduates to contribute significantly to future technological revolutions that will profoundly influence the evolution of society and improve people’s quality of life.
The UPM offers in the academic year 2024-2025 the new Masters of Science in Neurotechnology (MUNE)
The Technical University of Madrid (UPM) has demonstrable strength in several fields of Neuroscience and Neurotechnology. The UPM professors and researchers who will teach the Masters bring together multidisciplinary expertise, providing a full range of classes including measuring and analysing brain signals, neuroimaging, sensors and advanced materials, simulation, neurodevices, artificial intelligence, brain-computer-interface, neuroprosthesis, neuroethics, etc.
The UPM’s multidisciplinary expertise is the foundation on which this institution seeks to advance the fields of neuroscience and neurotechnology in the coming years, with this Masters program being an essential component of this goal.
UPM Schools Involved
The MUNEUROTEC Master takes advantage of the heterogeneous research force of the UPM, with the participation of specialists from different schools.
The teaching center responsible for the program is the Faculty of Telecommunication Engineering. The Faculty of Computer Engineering and the Faculty of Civil Engineering have participated in the creation of the master’s degree, which will also involve teaching from members of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences.

The UPM Masters in MUNEUROTEC will provide students with an advanced and specialized education, with a focus on professional specialization, fostering the development of advanced technological skills in the specific area of Neurotechnology. Students will also have the opportunity to initiate technological innovation tasks in companies in the Neurotechnology sector or clinical centers and hospitals.
The teaching center responsible for the program is the School of Telecommunications Engineering-UPM.
